One of the things I love about Greeley is that it's full of places where you can relax, have fun, meet up with friends, and feel comfortable being yourself. As Greeley prepares for Pride on Saturday, June 13, from 12 - 5 p.m. at the Aims Community College Welcome Center (4901 W 20th Street), it's a great time to explore some of the local businesses and gathering spaces that have built reputations for being welcoming and inclusive. Whether you're looking for a great cup of coffee, a craft cocktail, a unique shopping experience, or something active to do, there are plenty of local spots that combine great experiences with a welcoming atmosphere.

The Downtown Armory  -  614 8th Avenue

The Downtown Armory has become one of Greeley's most interesting gathering spaces. Home to events, performances, art exhibits, open mics and community programming, the historic building regularly brings together artists, creators and community members from all walks of life. 

Organizations like The Black Box Arts Collective help make the Armory a hub for inclusive events, queer-focused art shows, mixers, and performances throughout the year. 

Midnight Oil Bookstore - 827 10th Street

Few places feel as inviting as a great independent bookstore. Midnight Oil has built a loyal following thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, thoughtfully curated selection and commitment to creating a space where readers and community members can feel at home. 

The Nerd Store & The Nerd Store Toys - 807 8th Avenue & 805 8th Street

Whether you're into comics, tabletop games, collectibles or toys, The Nerd Store offers a place to explore your interests and connect with fellow fans. The business openly celebrates diversity and has made it clear that everyone is welcome.

Patrick's Irish Pub - 909 8th Avenue

Patrick's Irish Pub has been popular in downtown Greeley for a long time. It has a fun atmosphere, friendly people and lots of events. They have hosted drag shows and LGBTQIA+ get-togethers, so it’s a place where people can have fun and feel accepted. 

Syntax Distillery - 700 6th Street

If you like fancy drinks, Syntax Distillery is a good choice. They make great drinks and have hosted drag shows and community events where everyone is welcome. 

477 Distilling - 825 9th Street Unit B

477 Distilling is in downtown Greeley and offers special drinks in a laid-back place. They have also hosted LGBTQIA+ events, so it’s a good spot to meet people and enjoy a drink. 

WeldWerks Brewing Co. - 508 8th Avenue 

WeldWerks is well-known for its beer, but it’s also a place where everyone is welcome. They have a sign that says, “everyone is welcome, you just gotta act right.” People feel at home here because it’s friendly and welcoming. 

Wiley Roots Brewing Company - 625 3rd Street, D

Wiley Roots is known for fun drinks and a lively atmosphere. It’s a place where all kinds of people come together. They often have events for the community, including for LGBTQIA+ people and make sure everyone feels welcome.
